Dana Leon, known as "DAY", is a Mexican-American artist who discovered art as a powerful coping mechanism for navigating life with Tarlov Cyst Disease and Crohn’s Disease. Through her work, she explores resilience, transformation, and the beauty found in even the most difficult struggles.
DAY specializes in UV Reactive Art and Holographic Pointillism, fascinated by bioluminescent colors and intricate dot work. This passion has led to her deep admiration for artists like Georges Seurat, Frida Kahlo, and Vincent van Gogh, whose techniques and storytelling inspire her own artistic journey.
Art as a Catalyst for Healing
DAY uses her art to help others find beauty in life despite adversity. Her work transcends traditional mediums, combining digital media, sculpture, film, and photography to create immersive experiences.
In 2021, she launched the MELTED! Collection, a vibrant series of digital media, sculptures, and paintings inspired by Vincent van Gogh, Pop Art, and the energy of New York City. This collection reflects themes of distortion, perception, and the melting together of emotions, experiences, and time.
Metamorphosis: ENIGMA / ALPHA / OMEGA
Her upcoming project, Metamorphosis, is an ambitious collection of paintings, digital media, film, and photography dedicated to raising awareness for individuals facing chronic illnesses (such as Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), addiction, and childhood trauma. This body of work explores the journey of survival, transformation, and self-discovery, culminating in the search for Innerbloom—a state of renewal and resilience.
Through her art, DAY continues to push boundaries, sparking conversations about mental health, invisible illness, and the human experience, proving that even in darkness, there is always a way to glow.
